Apple's enterprise strategy An E-Commerce Times articles examines Apple's current status, and future strategy for the enterprise arena: "Central to Apple's attack is pricing. That means eliminating licensing worries by offering unlimited seat pricing on OS X server; introducing an Xserve hardware package that puts its Intel counterpart's feet to the fire by way of technical specifications and cost; and a pricing package for a hardware/software based SAN (storage area network) that one analyst has called 'spectacular.'" Macworld Expo SF 2005 preview In a precursory announcement regarding the upcoming Macworld Expo in San Francisco, show organizer IDG notes that there will be more than 275 exhibitors including Apple, Adobe, Aspyr, BlackBerry, Canon, FileMaker, Harman Multimedia, HP, Intuit, Microsoft, MYOB, Nikon, Oxford Semiconductor, Quark, Roxio, Sonos, Xerox, X-Rite and many others. The Macworld conference program runs Monday through Friday, January 10-14, 2005 at San Francisco's Moscone Center. Safari "puts Internet Explorer to shame" Walt Mossberg says a number of Web browsers provide a better alternative to Microsoft's Internet Explorer in a new column. "Firefox still has a tiny market share. But millions of people have downloaded it recently. I've been using it for months, and I recommended back in September that users switch to it from IE as a security measure. It's available in nearly identical versions for Windows, the Apple Macintosh, and the Linux operating system. There are some other browsers that put IE to shame. Apple's elegant Safari browser, included free on every Mac, is one. But it isn't available for Windows. More.
