"Not enough bang for the bug" in Mac virus writing In the Dallas-Fort Worth Star-Telegram, "Dr. Bombay Computer M.D." writes "[...] no self-respecting hacker, script kiddie, spyware pimp or other vermin would waste their time attacking a platform with a global market share of 1.8 percent. Not enough bang for the buck. [...] I wouldn't buy a Mac laptop on a bet, not because it's in any way inferior to Windows-based machines, but because the software I use either runs better on a PC or it just plain doesn't exist for Macs. That changed when the iMac came out, and concurrently, Steve Jobs turned the company around. I started buying Macs exclusively. Not only were they once again cool to own, after years of stagnation, the Macospshere again became a very interesting beat for reporters and columnists. So I wanted in for selfish reasons. Not only was Apple a newsy company but I also welcomed an excuse to learn even more about the platform that I had fallen in love with." More.
