New & Noteworthy: XML-RPC, SOAP, and AppleScript: new M-Audio MIDI drivers; more

Apple developer documentation on XML-RPC and SOAP Apple has posted a book explaining how to make XML-RPC and SOAP requests via AppleScript. From their Web page: "XML-RPC is a protocol for using XML and HTTP to make remote procedure calls over the Internet. SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) is a remote procedure call protocol designed for exchanging information in a distributed environment, where a server may consist of a hierarchy of objects."

Mac OS 10.1 Drivers for M-Audio Delta Series MIDIMAN M-Audio has released new drivers which support in Macintosh OS 10.1 for their entire line of Delta digital audio interfaces. According to their press release, latency for the OS 10.1 drivers is as low as 40 samples, which translates to a latency time of approximately 1 ms.
