PowerMail 3.0.9v2 is an email client with advanced indexing, filtering, and search capabilities. This update adds a new database rebuild mechanism for restoring databases which might have been damaged by bad disk errors, and under Mac OS X only, the help file can now be viewed from within the application itself and there is a French language version available. A number of bugs have also been fixed.

Microsoft Smart Tags Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal takes a look at a Windows XP feature that could impact the entire Web. Smart Tags can re-edit others' sites, and more than a few folks are upset at the potential misuse of such Web functionality.

Digital photography: printing Sony will release its DPP-SV77 printer in July for about $500. The printer prints images at a size of 4 inches by 6 inches or 3.5 inches by 4 inches on paper that uses dye sublimation technology.
