Nine months later, the criminal is still at large. Senator Prevents Action on Online Privacy Bill From the New York Times: "The measure would require Internet service providers, online service providers and commercial Web sites to get customers' permission before they could disclose important personal information. That would include financial, medical, ethnic, religious and political information along with Social Security data and sexual orientation. " More.

From Counterpane Internet Security newsletter: "Matsumoto tried these attacks against eleven commercially available fingerprint biometric systems, and was able to reliably fool all of them. New Matrix trailer is out. This "Matrix Reloaded" and "Matrix Revolutions" teaser trailer appeared last week, but it would not load properly for us. We checked again this morning, and it appears to be working fine now. There is plenty of time to download the larger version, the movies won't be released until 2003.
