Mac on Intel prediction David Coursey of ZDNet's AnchorDesk has a prediction: "In less than 18 months, you'll be able to buy an Apple Macintosh computer with an Intel (or equivalent) processor inside. The machine will be able to boot either Mac OS or Windows, although it might not come with Windows preinstalled." More.

Ricochet bouncing back? CNET is reporting that Ricochet, the now dismanteled high-speed wireless Internet service, may stage a comeback for customers in New York City, according to a city official. The service was resurrected briefly last September in order to aid in rescue efforts, and will be re-introduced with a consumer focus. More.

Running away from Windows A report issued by the Yankee Group (an analyst firm) claims that Apple's Mac OS X is at its highest popularity peak to date, while the adoption of Linux has gained impressive momentum as both go up against the most widely used operating system in the world, Microsoft Windows. NewsFactor quotes Laura DiDio, Yankee Group senior analyst: "Do [Linux and OS X] retain niche market status? Yes, but I think it's a very healthy niche market. And I think it could grow." More.
