IBM Considering Mac OS X version of DB2 IBM has posted a message on its Web site soliciting feedback on the possibility of porting the DB2 enterprise database software to Mac OS X. "If you (or your client(s)) use or develop on the Mac OS X operating system we want to hear from you as IBM is investigating the possibility of porting DB2 to the Mac OS X platform This survey is being conducted for marketing purposes only and in no way indicates an intention to support or not support the Mac OS X environment." Jobs Resigns from Gap Board CNET reports that Apple CEO Steve Jobs has stepped down from the board of retail clothing company Gap, "a move that could help lessen criticism over the independence of both companies' boards." Gap and Apple were both on a recent BusinessWeek list of U.S. companies with the worst boards. Larry Ellison also recently resigned from Apple's board, citing a time conflict. More.

iPod for Windows Reviewed Mike Himowitz reviews the Windows flavor of Apple's iPod for Sunspot.com. Among his conclusions: "The elegant, 6.5-ounce gadget - about the size of a pack of cigarettes - featured a tiny but capacious hard drive and a slick, friendly interface that made competing players seem downright clunky. Now Apple has an iPod for the rest of us - or at least those who have the right PC and recent versions of Microsoft Windows. As expected, it's a pleasure to use, with superb sound and a beautifully simple control panel." More.
