Googie Sandwich Googie Drives has introduced a new external FireWire/USB 2.0 hard drive dubbed the "sandwich" that sports fanless operation, an Oxford 911 chipset, a maximum size of 120 GB, and transfer speeds up to 35 MB/sec. More.

Blue is Better Philips has introduced a new digital media format using blue lasers that purportedly packs two CDs worth of information onto a quarter-sized disc. The company says blue lasers will eventually enable standard CD-sized media that can store 27 GB. More.
