Macromedia FreeHand 10 is available. This release runs natively under Mac OS X. It includes true contour gradients, new symbol-based brush and spray strokes, smart cursors for automatic joins (like those in Macromedia Flash), and a new Macromedia standard Pen Tool. It can also preserve Macromedia Flash Backgrounds across layers and embedded fonts in Mac and Windows EPS files.

AppleWorks 6.1 for Mac OS X available soon? A reader reports that he was told by Apple that the final release of AppleWorks 6.1 for X is due to ship on May 21.
