ContentBarrier for free! Andrew Dunning writes: "The latest iTools Update contains this statement from Apple: 'In response to the discontinuation of KidSafe, Internet security company Intego is offering its ContentBarrier software, a $39.95 retail value, free to iTools members for a limited time. ContentBarrier is a highly rated application that helps parents protect their kids from inappropriate content on the Internet.' After one signs up, on Intego's website, you get this message: 'You will receive instructions on where to download your product by e-mail during the first week of September 2001.'"

Cable allies to leave Excite@Home This cnet.com article states: "Financially troubled Excite@Home said Friday that cable partners Comcast and Cox Communications have decided to end their long-term relationships with the high-speed Internet service before next summer. In the meantime, Excite@Home broadband Net access customers served by Cox and Comcast must wait for a new or updated agreement, or consider other options."
