Apple settles with "worker bee" A cnet.com article states: Apple Computer has quietly settled a lawsuit against a former worker who allegedly posted company secrets on the Internet under the pseudonym "worker bee." According to documents filed at California's Santa Clara County Superior Court, Apple reached a deal in April with Juan Gutierrez, a former temporary worker whom Apple alleged was responsible for the "worker bee" postings.

LaCie launches FireWire backup solutions LaCie has unveiled its first line of FireWire backup solutions. The product line includes a high-end AIT backup system with a tape capacity of up to 70 GB, and a DDS-3 drive that is ideal for departmental or personal backup. Both solutions are the first high-performance tape drives that use high-speed, plug-and-play FireWire connectivity. The FireWire AIT drives have an SRP of $1,549 and the AIT 35/70GB cartridges are available at $74. LaCie FireWire DDS-3 drives are available with an SRP of $899. DDS-3 24GB cartridges are available with an SRP of $17.

TurboTax Deluxe for Mac 2000 00.00d is an update to this tax preparation software (for those who filed for an extension presumably!). Reader feedback indicates this is not actually a new update, despite the release date info on VersionTracker.
