Apple retail stores open big Steve King writes: "I tried to visit the Glendale, California Apple store on Sunday. Palm in trouble Two cnet.com articles (one and two) cover recent financial woes afflicting Palm: "Palm expected demand for its products to grow much more rapidly than it has, and as a result, the company has overproduced units and must offer discounts and other incentives to move the inventory. The once high-end Palm VII wireless unit is now priced at $99 after rebates. With sales falling well short of even its worst forecasts and its cash dwindling, Palm faces a number of tough decisions in the coming months."
