No surprises at Apple Expo Steve Jobs gave the keynote address at the Apple Expo in Paris today. While there had been speculation that he would use it as an occasion to introduce the expected successor to the iMac, the iMac II (code-named Kihei), this proved not to be the case. In fact, there were no major announcements at all. A MacWEEK article has more details.

Sorenson Broadcaster 1.0 has been released. It "provides everything needed for live video and/or audio broadcasts, using QuickTime, to single or multiple computers over the Internet or corporate intranets.

MSN Messenger 1.0 is now available for the Macintosh. It's a competitor to AOL's Instant Messenger.

Sonnet G3 500MHz cards Sonnet Technologies has announced immediate shipment the 500 MHz G3 upgrade cards for the PCI and G3 Power Macintoshes. All the new cards are configured with 1MB 2:1 ratio backside cache, and earn impressive MacBench 4.0 processor scores of 1700 to 1800.
