MacFixIt Forums praised in Arizona Republic Charles Downs latest Well-Healed Mac column (from the Arizona Republic) mentions the new MacFixIt Forums. He writes: "This is one of the best-designed Mac help resources I have ever seen, and I encourage your visit. It is a splendid adjunct to MacFixIt which you should visit daily." Thanks, Charles!
By the way, The Arizona Republic is one of the few newspapers in the country that has regular columns on the Mac. Check out its Macintosh Page.

Apple shake-up The PowerBook Zone posted an article last week stating that Mark Foster (Apple's Vice President of PowerBook development) has resigned. "There will be no replacement for his position. Instead, PowerBook development has now been folded into desktop system development. Glen Miranker will be the head of both PowerBook and desktop system engineering." Articles in News.com and MSNBC confirm this.

As an aside, Scott Rose noted the more negative tone of the MSNBC article, leading him to speculate whether the site's relationship with Microsoft may result in biased coverage.

CompuServe tech support Last week, we mentioned the demise of MacAllaince and stated "The idea was to perpetuate the unparalleled Mac tech support which was formerly available in the MAUG forums on CompuServe." Binky Melnik (of CompuServe) took exception to this statement and replied: "'Unparalleled Mac tech support' is still available today in the CompuServe forums; it never went anywhere. Don't believe me? You can check it out for yourself out from the web."
