Netscape icon glitch: no pattern emerges

The Netscape N icon animation glitch, mentioned here last time, must be some sort of psychological test. Some users have never had the problem, even with the latest versions of Netscape browsers (4.06 and 4.5 beta). Others claim to have had it since Netscape 2.0. Some report a successful work-around (such as turning of Smart Browsing features) while others assert that the same work-around does not work. Some claim that it only happens on certain pages, while others say it happens on every page they load. This is the cue for me to drop this discussion until some consensus emerges.
