Netscape & Wells Fargo; ORB & SpeedTools; Street Atlas; more

Netscape and Wells Fargo conflict resolved Howard Pincus informs us that the Wells Fargo online banking problem with Netscape Communicator 4.72 (see previous item) has now been resolved ORB drives and SpeedTools Two readers (Steve Klein and Bret Ginther0 recently wrote us to elaborate on a tip we have noted before: If you are using an ORB drive and are having problems with the driver, try Intech's Hard Disk SpeedTools. Not only did it solve the compatibility probes these readers were having, but (unlike some vendors for other third party drivers, which may also work with the ORB), Intech provides tech support for use of SpeedTools on an ORB. Street Atlas delay fixed Larry Lloyd informs us that DeLorme's Street Atlas 6 for the Mac has a "30 second delay" problem. This refers to the feature (useful if you have a portable in your car) where your car's location is superimposed over the map (it also requires the Earthmate GPS or Tripmate receivers). "The problem was that the arrows position on the map was 30 seconds behind your actual vehicle position. This problem has been fixed via a new master disc. In order to get a copy you need to call DeLorme Customer Service at 1-800-511-2459." Command & Conquer conflict with GameSprockets? Evan Chaney writes: "There is a conflict between Mac Command & Conquer by Westwood Studios and the Apple GameSprockets (v1.7.2 and later). It is a conflict with the DrawSprocket Lib. The work-around is to replace the DrawSprocket Lib with the copy included on the C&C CD." If you do this, you should probably save a copy of the newer file and switch it back when not playing the game. Don't use business card CDs in a slot-loading drive This may seem obvious, but several users found out the hard-way that you should not insert the promotional pint-sized business-card CD discs into a slot-loading CD/DVD drive. If you do, it will be very hard to eject them!
