Netscape 6.1 for Mac OS X: two reader reports

Slow loading? Yuri Fokin writes: "Netscape 6.1 took 3.15 minutes to load the MacFixIt home page. OmniWeb loaded the whole page in 13 seconds." John Melby confirms this.

Update: Stephen Shepard replies: "This is most likely because your readers were using it on a dual processor Mac. This is a confirmed bug with all builds of Netscape 6 and Mozilla under OS X. On these systems the program is nearly unusable. The bug does not exist under OS 9 and it runs fine in Classic mode."

Mail app conflict? Brian Sears writes: "I like to have Apple's Mail app running while I'm working all day. Almost every time that Mail automatically checks for new messages it causes Netscape 6.1 to quit or crash."
