Netflix and Uncle Jesse are getting the 'Full House' back together
On Monday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," John Stamos confirmed that Netflix is bringing "Full House" back for a 13-episode miniseries on Netflix called "Fuller House."
These days it seems that everywhere you look (everywhere you look) there's a spinoff (a spinoff) of some retro TV show. On Monday's episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live," John Stamos confirmed earlier rumors that Netflix will be bringing a spinoff of the hit '80s and '90s sitcom "Full House" back to TV screens in 2016.
Stamos told Kimmel that Netflix plans to air a 13-episode miniseries called "Fuller House" that will focus on a new generation of parents.
In the series, eldest daughter D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron-Bure), middle daughter Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and eclectic neighbor Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) will be raising children of their own in the infamous Tanner house.
The series will begin with a one-hour "Full House" reunion that will feature as many of the original cast member as Stamos can get together, and Uncle Jesse (Stamos), Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier) and Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) will then turn over the house to D.J., Kimmy and Stephanie for the rest of the series.
In the spinoff, D.J. will play a recently widowed veterinarian with a rebellious 12-year-old, a neurotic 7-year-old and one more kid on the way. D.J. partners with her aspiring-musician sister Stephanie and neighbor and BFF Kimmy Gibbler, who is also a single mother, to raise the kids in the same house they grew up in. Stamos will make guest appearances on the show, and talks about guest roles are ongoing with Sagat, Coulier, Lori Loughlin and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson, according to the press release.
"Fuller House" is scheduled to debut on Netflix sometime in 2016. So if you're a "Full House" fan who has really been missing your old familiar friends, take comfort knowing that they're waiting just around the bend.
