Navigation Services and Open/Save dialog box enhancers

CNET staff
Default Folder has a Preferences setting to "Turn off Navigation Services when possible." Similarly, ACTION Files has a Compatibility tab option to "Enable Navigation Services" for selected applications. For programs that use Navigation Services, both of these options can cause problems if not set correctly. In particular, several users have reported problems linked to having the Default Folder option enabled (as an alternative to disabling it, you can select specific applications as "exceptions"). Similarly, with ACTION Files, problems may occur with these same applications unless you add the application to the list and do enable the Navigation Services option. Quicken and MT-NewsWatcher are two programs that have been noted in this regard. (Thanks, Jason Sims, Dan Malloy and others.)
Update: This matter has been addressed in the latest versions of ACTION Files (1.5.x). It supports Navigation Services directly. (Thanks, Charles Saeger.)
