Myst III problems in OS X; fix coming

Myst III checks to see that the Disk 1 CD is in the drive before launching (as a form of copy protection no doubt). The problem is that, in Mac OS X, this does not work. It fails to find the disk, even if the program is run from Classic. In this regard, a reader found the following info in the latest FAQ for the game:

We are currently working with Apple to insure that the updated, OS X native application includes all the fixes and optimizations necessary. This should be completed by the end of May. Try running the game in "Emulator Mode" under OS X.

Update: Bill Isham replies that he has seen this same problem whenever he runs an application from Classic that needs to access a CD (mainly games including Links LS 2000, Majesty, Risk II, and Monopoly).
