Multicooker does a bit of everything
The Cuisinart Multi Cooker can slow-cook, steam, roast, or brown. With a 7-quart capacity, the appliance is capable of creating full meals.
We ask much of our kitchen gear, often pushing whatever we have past its limits. Forks get used as knives, blenders are put into action as food processors, toaster ovens suddenly become complete-meal makers; anything to avoid dirtying another pot, pan, or dish, right? As such, it has become commonplace to find appliances that have multiple functions built right in.
The Cuisinart Multi Cooker is a slow cooker, a steamer, a roaster, and a frying pan all rolled up into one. Especially convenient is the sautéing function. Instead of breaking out a frying pan to brown meats before roasting or transferring into a slow cooker, one can accomplish the task directly in the multicooker. Browning adds flavor via the Maillard reaction, and browning in the multicooker means no extra pans to wash.
Just because the multicooker is also a slow cooker doesn't mean meals have to be heavy and meaty; the device operates as a steamer too. The included roasting rack doubles as a steamer rack for preparing light and healthy meals. A 60-minute timer regulates the steaming function, while the 7-quart capacity of the multicooker allows full meals to be prepared all at one time. And, yes, the one cooking vessel is dishwasher-safe.
