Multi-hour outage hits AT&T Broadband

A router problem at AT&T Broadband caused a nearly three-hour nationwide outage of its high-speed Internet service on Tuesday. The problem, caused by faulty equipment in Chicago, primarily affected customers who live in areas formerly served by Tele-Communications Inc., which AT&T in 1998, company spokeswoman Sarah Eder said. Most of the customers affected by the outage are located west of Chicago, Eder said. AT&T Broadband is still investigating the problem, she said.
