Listener email:

I have a question about mp3 players with FM tuners. Specifically, about the FM tuners themselves. Is there a difference in the performance of the FM tuners that come in some mp3 players? Whenever I read a review about an mp3 player with an FM tuner, it just mentions that it has an FM tuner, and not how well the tuner performs. This is important to me because I listen to the radio on my commute on the bus. I am currently using a Sansa Clip, which does OK, but there is some static on my favorite station, and it cuts in and out as I get closer to home. So I was wondering, would a different device offer better FM reception? Is there a difference in the FM tuners that manufacturers put in mp3 players, or are they all pretty much the same?

I love your podcast, and I listen every week. I will be awaiting your response, since I consider you guys THE authority on portable music players.
