Mount a tablet inside your kitchen cabinet for easy recipe-reading

One of the most helpful gadgets in the kitchen -- especially if you're adventurous and like to try new recipes -- is a tablet. It has a built-in timer, access to an endless supply of recipes, and takes up far less space than a collection of cookbooks. It can also replace the television or radio you have in your kitchen, or it can play audiobooks and podcasts while you cook.
One of the worst places to leave or use your tablet, not surprisingly, is on your kitchen counter. The threat of accidental spills or the tablet sliding off the counter are constantly looming.
Fortunately, there is a cheap fix that will help keep your tablet safe and make it easier to reference recipes or watch your favorite show on Netflix while you cook.
Mounting your tablet inside the cabinet keeps the command hooks out of sight when you're not cooking.
What you will need
Obviously, you will need a tablet. You could also try this with an old smartphone. Other than that, all you will need are three medium-sized Command hooks, which are rated to hold 3 pounds (1.36 kilograms) each.
Mounting the tablet inside the cabinet door
Mounting a tablet on the inside of the cabinet door is very easy, cheap, and should take less than 5 minutes.
- Prepare the hooks by removing the protective layer from red side from Command strips and pressing the exposed adhesive against the backside of the hook. Do this for all three hooks.
- Choose the cabinet door that seems the most appropriate and hold the tablet up to the inside of the cabinet door to determine the best position for the tablet. You want to place the hooks where they or the tablet won't obstruct closing the cabinet door.
- Place two of the hooks on the bottom edge of the tablet, remove the protective layer from the adhesive on the backside of the hooks, and gently place them where you want the tablet to hang. Straighten or adjust the hooks, then press firmly to secure them in place.
- Center the tablet on the two bottom hooks, place the remaining hook in the center of the top edge of the tablet, and remove the last piece of protective paper from the adhesive strip. Gently press the tablet into the cabinet door, remove the tablet, straighten the hook if necessary and press it into place.
Now when you're ready to cook, simply slide the tablet into the hooks. This mount keeps the tablet off the counter, safe from spills or accidental knocks, and near eye level -- perfect for following a recipe, streaming some music or listening to your latest audiobook.
