Motorola Droid Razr HD, Maxx HD get Android 4.1 next week
The pair of Motorola smartphones will see a Jelly Bean update starting the first week of December.
Both Motorola smartphones will see Jelly Bean take control as the new operating system version as soon as next week, according to Verizon's blog. As a refresher, Jelly Bean offers enhanced notifications, Google Now, and a more intuitive keyboard.
Verizon is also using the update to implement a few carrier-specific changes to the Motorola duo. Gone are the Verizon Video app and Color app, making room for a new Video calling portal and Accessories app. What's more, the Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD also get the full suite of Amazon apps (Kindle, Amazon MP3, IMDb, Audible, and Zappos), introduced in the .
Verizon says that the Android 4.1 update will begin rolling out in phases next week and will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to download and install.
Impatient users can manually check for the 276MB update by navigating their Motorola handset to Menu > Settings > About phone > System updates > Download. A dedicated support page outlines the benefits and procedures for the update.
