Moto 360 smartwatch specs outed by Best Buy?
Retailer's website lists the Android-powered smartwatch as having a 1.5-inch backlit LCD touch screen and $250 price tag.
Motorola Mobility isn't expected to unveil its new Moto 360 smartwatch until next month, but that hasn't stopped Best Buy from giving consumers a peek at what makes it tick.
According to specs published Sunday on the electronics retailer's website, the Moto 360 will cost $250 and feature a 1.5-inch backlit LCD touch screen with a 320x290 resolution and 205 pixels per inch. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 will protect the Android-powered smartwatch's screen.
The voice-activated smartwatch will sport an optical heart rate monitor, pedometer, and Bluetooth 4.0. It will be compatible with most devices running Android 4.3 or later versions of Google's mobile operating system, according to Best Buy's page.
A Motorola Mobility spokeswoman declined to comment on the Best Buy listing.
The page doesn't indicate when the smartwatch will be available, but if legitimate, the specs suggest that Best Buy jumped the gun by two weeks. After several teases and guest appearances at Google's I/O developer conference in June, the smartwatch is scheduled to get a proper debut and launch at an event held in Chicago on September 4.
The 360 will be the latest Android Wear smartwatch, following on the heels of the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live which also debuted at Google I/O in June. While those smartwatches met with a somewhat tepid reception, wearable tech fans have been hoping the 360's unique circular design and presmably more muscular features -- which the Best Buy info would seem to bear out -- will make it a more attractive option.
