More praise for Apple iDVD Imaging Resource has posted a comparitive review of iDVD and Windows XP's DVDit! concluding: "Most people find software is a solid that must be chewed to derive any nutritional benefits. And so they chew and chew and chew. But, no matter how much they chew, the stuff is still pretty hard to swallow. But, as the helpful souls pointed out, Apple's software is a liquid. You can drink it. No chewing necessary." More.

Big names back PCI-X Widely heralded a successor to the current PCI expansion architecture used in Power Mac G4s and by the rest of the PC industry, PCI-X has gained the critical support of both Hewlett Packard and IBM. Both companies will put the technology into their servers in 2004. CNET reports "Dell Computer, the No. 2 seller of Intel servers after HP, prefers a different standard called PCI Express." More.

TI offers new device concept Texas Instruments has introduced a new chipset and related design for making cell phones that can connect with three different kinds of wireless networks. The design package, called Wanda, is meant to create a cell phone that TI said would connect to each of these technologies: a Wi-Fi "hot spot," which uses the 802.11b standards; a cell phone network using Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM); and any device using the short-range wireless standard called Bluetooth. TI says it is the first to combine all three in a single design. More.
