More Macworld announcements: Microsoft; Imation; Mactell; more

Adding to our previous posting of new product announcements for the Expo:

Microsoft software Microsoft will be announcing several new software products today (although the most interesting stuff will not be shipping until this fall). No, they have nothing to do with Office 2000 (as originally speculated). We'll have more details here later today or tomorrow (after the embargo is lifted). In the mean time, you can check this Microsoft web page for an announcement to be posted.

InterView for PCI XLR8 has announced that InterView, its video capture hardware device, is now compatible with PCI model Macintosh computers. It also comes with Strata VideoShop.

Prosoft Engineering will introduce its OEM version of FORMEDIA at Macworld Expo today. It is a full-featured set of utilities that formats, partitions, and provides a wide array of utilities for fixed and removable media.

Imation shows its colors Imation announced the introduction of colored bezels or faceplates that come in the five iMac colors. They are to be attached to the front end of a SuperDisk USB drive to color coordinate with the monitor. It will also start shipping neon colored SuperDisks.

Mactell Voodoo Mactell's latest addition to its line of 3D graphics accelerators is the Vision3D EvilEye series, graphics acceleration cards based on the 3dfx Voodoo3 chip set.

MacSpeech and Philips MacSpeech, Inc. today announced it has "entered into a cooperative effort with Philips Speech Processing for licensing Philips' natural speech recognition technology to create continuous speech applications for the Apple Macintosh."
