Monoprice introduces $1,200 Dual Color Extrusion 3D printer
Monoprice announces the availability of its first 3D printer, the $1,200 Dual Color Extrusion 3D Printer.
If you're in the market for a 3D printer, you can now buy one from one of the Web's favorite discount vendors.
Monoprice today announced its Dual Color Extrusion 3D Printer. Available for preorder now, the $1,200 unit is available to ship by the end of the month. It's the Web retailer's first 3D printer.
While there are plenty of 3D printers available for $1,000 or less, the new Monoprice model is one of the more affordable models capable of handling two-color creations.
Despite the relatively low price, the new printer comes with a dual color extrusion and is able to print with ABS, PLA or PVA filament, using the standard 1kg, 1.75mm filament spool, comparable to other models that costs $2,500 or more.
Monoprice says the extruder supports layer thicknesses of 0.1 to about 0.5mm, and can support heat tolerances of up to 250 degrees Celsius (480 degrees Fahrenheit) with a print speed of of 24cc per hour. Monoprice also sell ABS and PLA filament colors fluorescent yellow, crystal clear, bright orange, bright green, blue, red, purple, white and black. The printer itself comes included with two rolls of 1.75mm white and black filament.
The new 3D printer will carry a six-month warranty for replacement parts and comes with free shipping.
