Mitch Kapor, of Lotus and Electronic Frontier Foundation fame, on Monday said he has created a proof-of-concept for his latest start-up called Foxmarks, which he said "at the intersection of search and social production."

The company is making a Firefox browser add-on which lets people synchronize bookmarks across several computers. People can log on from any computer and get their bookmarks as if they are working from their own.

In his blog on Monday, Kapor said to "think of new services which are a cross between Google and the Wikipedia."

The company, which now is just Kapor and co-founder Todd Agulnick, is now hiring and has a hosted wiki detailing the project.
