When Apple released the new MacBooks with the Mini DisplayPort connectors, the options for using them were quite limited. Namely, while Apple's own 24-inch cinema display was built to solely work with this connection, when paired with desktop computers many people found the cable to be too short for their setups.

We have reported on this and potential workarounds for Apple's LED Cinema display in a past article, but it seems more and more companies are coming out with options for the Mini DisplayPort that will help people. For between $15 and $22, Circuit Assembly now has a variety of adapters and extension cables for the standard and Mini DisplayPorts, which should enhance the configuration options for both MacBook and desktop owners alike.

Some options like extension cables for the mini DisplayPort are still in development by Circuit Assembly but are due for release within a month's time. Likewise, other companies that are claiming to have DisplayPort cables available very soon are MonoPrice (expected tomorrow) and DataPro, so keep an eye out on them if you're in desperate need of an extension for your display.
