Kevin Browne and other members of the Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit (MacBU) spoke yesterday about MacBU's continued support for the Mac. Here is an overview of what was discussed:
  • Microsoft and the MacBU Microsoft is continuing its support for the Mac by developing and delivering the best Mac products and betting its long term strategy on Mac OS X.

  • .NET and the MacBU The MacBU plans to connect Mac users to the .NET platform, ultimately integrating Microsoft service offerings that are of value to them.

  • Future direction of the MacBU The future direction of the MacBU is to work towards developing Mac products that empower the Mac user. The MacBU team is actively planning for the next releases of Office, Internet Explorer and other Mac products.

  • Product updates
    Service Release for Office v. X will be available late May, Palm sync support also expected around this time frame.
    New versions of Internet Explorer and MSN Messenger for the Mac will be coming.
