Microsoft and SAP are planning a Web press conference on Tuesday to update their plans for Mendocino, a program that links Microsoft's Outlook e-mail and calendar program with SAP's back-office business applications.

Scheduled to participate in the "Live Meeting" event are Microsoft business division President Jeff Raikes and SAP product and technology group President Shai Agassi.

The software has been in testing since December and been shown off in demos since last spring. Microsoft said it remains on track for a release this summer (July had previously been mentioned as a release date).
