Microsoft Research chief takes summer sabbatical
The head of Microsoft's research arm is taking the summer off.
Rick Rashid, the senior vice president of Microsoft Research, starts a sabbatical next week, with plans to return to his current role at the end of August. While he is out, VP and fellow researcher Dan Ling will be minding the MSR store.
Microsoft characterized the leave as routine and said it has been in the works for about a year. "Rick is looking forward to being back in the office to help celebrate the 15th anniversary of Microsoft Research, in September," a Microsoft representative said.
