Microsoft has released a small update to Office 2008 that addresses a problem in the recently released service pack 2 for Office, where users cannot open some Office documents.
In addition, they have updated the Open XML converter utility to version 1.1.1, which supposedly addresses similar small problems with the previous update. For information on the Office update, see this Microsoft support page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/974170
The updates should be available thorugh Microsoft's auto updater, but are also available at Microsoft's downloads page: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.mspx
