Microsoft Office 11.1.1 (#4): Problems with Endnote

MacFixIt reader Michael Witt reports a conflict between Endnote -- a biblography tool -- and the Microsoft Office 11.1.1 update.

Michael writes: "Office 11.1.1 seems to break the integration of Endnote and Word. After the update, when I started up Word, I got a spinning beach ball, followed by the prompt to select the type of the file I was supposedly trying to read in. It seems Word confused the CWYW files with files that were meant to be opened. Selecting a file type or clicking cancel then prompted Word to crash. Removing the CWYW files resulted in normal Word start-up. My solution: I replaced the Office files updated in 11.1.1 with the corresponding 11.1.0 files from a backup. Problem solved."
