It can charge an iPhone 5 at least 20 times. It can also provide light for 6 hours a night up to 12 nights in a row, according to the campaign.The disposable 2.2-pound battery cartridge comes in a sealed container and can hold a charge for at least three years.
Once exposed to air, the five zinc-air cells can generate current.
The plug-in cartridge is available for $49, with the MetAir Solstice itself going for $99 on the ambitious Kickstarter campaign, which aims to raise $179,000.
