Menuette 3.0 issues: a reply from Tiger Technologies; 3.0.1 public beta online

Last time, we noted a thread on the MacFixIt Forums that claimed Menuette 3.0 was causing Finder crashes. The thread also referred to a more general conflict involving font utilities, confirmed by Tiger Technologies. Robert Mathews, the author of Menuette, offers this clarification:
Russ Greene is the only person who has reported any Finder crashes to me. I don't doubt that Russ is having some kind of problem that may be caused by Menuette. But since he's literally the only one reporting that sort of trouble, I can almost guarantee that there isn't a general Menuette crashing conflict with any other popular utility.

What I am aware of, and what the second poster was referring to, is that there is a conflict with Font Reserve 2.0 and ATM Deluxe that can cause menus to be drawn slowly sometimes if Menuette's WYSIWYG Fonts option is turned on. This is because Font Reserve and ATM Deluxe have options that try to open fonts on the disk when Menuette asks the Macintosh Font Manager if a given menu title is actually a font name. The only consequence of this, however, is that menu items draw slowly -- it doesn't cause a crash. In addition, this problem was fixed in a public beta of Menuette 3.0.1.
