A recent McAfee antivirus update unleashed a storm of false positives late last week, unwittingly quarantining or deleting files such as excel.exe, the Google Toolbar, and various Adobe updaters. McAfee advised that it's sorry, and you should just restore those programs from your extensive and up-to-date backup collection. So, you're screwed, then.
