Set during the events of the third game, Leviathan has Shepard exploring the history of the Reapers, while attempting to track down a rogue Reaper (the eponymous Leviathan) who might help turn the tide of the war.

The DLC will add two new weapons — the AT-12 Raider shotgun and the M-55 Argus assault rifle — as well as a number of new weapons mods. Some of the plot details and the identity of the actor voicing Leviathan, Anthony Skordi, were previously leaked when files were found in the Extended Cut expansion that contained dialogue from the new DLC.

Because Leviathan takes place during the original game, players who've completed ME3 will play from just before the final end game sequences. View the trailer below for a look at what you can expect on 28 August.
