Mark Zuckerberg schedules second Q&A with the public
The Facebook CEO will host another ask-me-anything session with the public, on December 11.
Mark Zuckerberg apparently enjoyed his chat with Facebook's users earlier this month so much that he's ready to do it again.
The social-networking giant's founder and chief executive will host another public question-and-answer session on December 11, Facebook announced Tuesday. As in the earlier session, Zuckerberg will field questions posted by users on Facebook, as well as queries from local community members and guests in the room with him.
The ask-me-anything (AMA) chat format has grown in popularity in recent years. President Barack Obama went on the website Reddit in 2012 to answer questions on topics ranging from space exploration to the openness of the Internet. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and comedian Louis CK have done AMAs as well.
The Facebook post, which invited users in the San Francisco Bay Area to request free tickets to the event, also hinted that these chat sessions could become regular events. Those who are interested in attending the 2 p.m. event at the company's Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters can request tickets by emailing their full name and place of residence to qawithmark@fb.com.
In an hour-long session on November 6, Zuckerberg addressed a variety of personal and social network issues. In addition to revealing why he always wore a gray T-shirt and jeans (no energy for fashion) and his feelings about the 2010 movie "The Social Network" (it was "hurtful"), the 30-year-old CEO discussed the company's decision to require mobile users to download a separate app called Messenger to send private messages.
