Mail does not delete messages on server: a fix
A reader has sent us this explanation of a bug that causes the Mail application to ignore the user preference to delete messages on a POP server (see previous items one and two.) Waymond Trimmer writes:
"It's a bug that happens when you delete all the rules out of the rules tab in the mail app preferences. The easiest fix is to quit mail, then go into your home/library/mail/ folder and delete the messagesorting.plist file. Mail will create a new file with the default rules. Note that your previous rules will be lost."
