MacLabel Pro work-around? Regarding yesterday's item on MacLabel Pro crashes, Ronald Guest writes: "I use Avery MacLabel Pro 1.64 on my B&W G3/350 with Mac OS 9.0.4. I can avoid the crash by turning off background printing prior to printing from MacLabel." Odd MouseWare glitch Here's an odd one. Dave Alpert installed the new Logitech MouseWare 3.5 driver for his M-BA47 Logitech scrolling mouse. After rebooting, he received the following message: "MouseWare must load after Smart Scroll in order for these two control panels to work together. Please add a space to the front of Smart Scroll's name, or a "~" in front of MouseWare's name. Until then, MouseWare's scrolling function will be disabled." Dave does not have Smart Scroll installed anywhere on his drive. None-the-less, the scrolling function does not work - even after renaming the control panel. Update: Bryan Schappel replies: "I've noticed that the MouseWare software (3.0, 3.1, or 3.5) will not enable scrolling if any of the following control panels are loaded: Smart Scroll, Snapz Pro, and Scrollability. If you open the MouseWare extension in ResEdit and examine the STR# 129 resource, you will see three error messages which lists the above three files. Apparently, MouseWare can't correctly identify Smart Scroll, Snapz Pro, or Scrollability. I have used Smart Scroll for some time and MouseWare always identifies it as Snapz Pro." Several other readers (including David Portela and Stefan Schreck) confirm that disabling Snapz Pro eliminates the error message and gets wheel scrolling to work. This also turned out to be the solution for Dave Alpert. Conversely, Stephen Magyari got an error message that referred to Snapz Pro, even though he does not have that extension installed (he did have Smart Scroll installed).
