Several MacFixIt readers have already written in to report issues they have experienced with the recent update to Mac OS X Leopard, 10.5.8.

Though the 10.5.8 update is only a couple days old, readers have already experienced some odd issues with their systems since updating. It is unclear if these issues are local or wider spread. If you have experienced any problem described here, or have solved any of them, let us know in the comments. As we describe in many of our articles about updates (especially OS updates) it is a good idea to check permissions and install using the Combo Update package. Be sure to take those basic troubleshooting steps.

MacFixIt reader "Orlando S." writes:

"After installing MacOS10.5.8 I can't open any of the DMG files that I'm downloading from the internet. Please help. Thanks."
MacFixIt reader "Ang" reports:
"After installing the 10.5.8 update bluetooth references says: bluetooth "off". the box for checking "on" is greyed out. I use bluetooth for Mighty Mouse only, which is useless now. I have removed the bluetooth drive several times, which helped in the past, but this time it is not helping. Anyone else having this problem and a possible solution?"
MacFixIt reader "Tom R." writes:
"Now that I've updated to OS X Leopard 10.5.8, the Time Capsule Window opens every time I boot my computer."
From MacFixIt reader "IntrepidCoward":
"Updated a friend's MacBook Pro to 10.5.8 last night. Now it wont startup. It freezes on the white startup screen with the Apple logo in the middle (no spinning icon). Tried to startup in single user mode: After several messages ending with "Loading drivers..." followed by 7 lines of dots followed by "Couldn't get file info."

Repeated 3 times with long pauses between messages, it restarted into the same apple logo freeze. At no time would it accept keyboard input."

Please keep in mind that these are the experiences of our readers and may or may not be widely spread. If you think you have solved any of these issues (or found a workaround) please comment. Are you experiencing any other issues with the Mac OS X 10.5.8 update?
