Some users are reporting issues with color distortion after applying MacBook Pro 2.2/2.4GHz Software Update 1.0. As previously reported, this update modifies several important files, particularly those related to the NVidia graphics subsystems on applicable models.

One reader writes:

"Since last week I have the new MacBookPro 17 inch 2.4 GHz with the standard resolution. An external Sony 19 inch is connected to this MacBook Pro. Yesterday I have done the graphic card update and since this update I have a strange issue in the finder with the colors. Parts gray are very brown-yellow on the both display. I have tried to change the color-sync profiles without success. When I open photoshop an go to the color chooser everything is ok.

"What is strange is that not all the grays are affected, the brushed metal effect and the windows are ok, but in the dock the clock and all the widget are affected. When I go to the system preferences, select appearance, select Highlight color, other, gray scale slider, I cant get a correct gray, I get only a yellow-brown gray and not a neutral one, but the slider is ok.

"This affect all the pop-up menu from the system. For example when I shutdown the computer, the symbol in the pop-up who ask if you really want to shutdown is affected."
