MacBook Air SuperDrive only compatible with MacBook Air, will other drives work?
Cheaper bus-powered drives are available.

A quick reminder: the aptly named MacBook Air SuperDrive is only for the MacBook Air. It won't work with any other Mac. This much is obvious from Apple's MacBook Air Accessories page, which states that the drive "Requires MacBook Air with available USB 2.0 port"
The question now: will other USB-powered DVD±RW drives like LaCie's LightScribe (priced $10 cheaper than Apple's portable SuperDrive) work with the MacBook Air? We assume so, but don't have an actual unit to test yet.
