GoLive 5.0 and OS X Server oddity Pierre Suter writes: "I have an odd problem with GoLive 5.0 and the ftp server of Mac OS X Server 10.1.2. He found a posting from another user that describes the exact same symptom: "If I open one of my sites in GoLive, create a new folder 'folder' with one or more files inside and attempt to upload the new content to the site, I get an error dialog telling me that 'folder' is not a directory. A file called 'folder' gets created in the destination. That file contains whatever the first file in the actual folder contained (e.g., if the file is foo.html and consists of the word 'hi,' then the new file called 'folder' consists of the word 'hi'). I was not able to upload a main.css file also. If I drag the new folder 'folder' over, instead of using the ftp button, the folder and contents are created properly..."

Web Services issue John Brittnacher writes: "I just did the OS X Server 10.1.2 update on my multi-site web server. After restarting, Web Services doesn't appear in Server Admin and Apache won't start automatically. What I have found so far is every time I reboot the file </etc/httpd/httpd_macosxserver.conf> keeps getting deleted. If I type:

cd /etc/httpd
cp httpd_macosxserver.conf.bak httpd_macosxserver.conf
apachectl start

the server starts and runs fine. I suspect something in Server Admin is failing during the Web Services startup." [Note: We have previously covered related problems with earlier versions of OS X; this appears to be a new wrinkle.]
