Mac OS X 10.4.x: Scrolling deficiency

CNET staff

MacFixIt reader Scott Rose was first to report a deficiency in Mac OS X 10.4.x's ability to automatically scroll when re-arranging files -- an inadequacy that did not exist in Mac OS X 10.3.x.

As described by Scott:

"In the Finder, go into a folder that has lots of items in it and switch into List View. Make sure that the list is so long that you have to scroll down to see all of them. Now take a folder (or file) that you see in the list and drag it lower in the list. In 10.4, you can not drag this item below the lowest visible item in the list. In other words, the Finder will not scroll automatically (like it used to in 10.2 and 10.3) when you're dragging an item lower in the list. Dragging higher in the list works just fine."

This bug has been confirmed in house.
