If you are experiencing repeated unexpected quits or freezes from any version of Microsoft Word after updating to Mac OS X 10.4.7, font issues may be at play. Try deleting the following files/folders:

  • ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.browserfont.cache
  • ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Font Cache

and check for persistence of the issue.
