Mac OS X 10.4.2 user poll reveals increased stability in progressive Tiger releases

With 35.5 percent of respondents reporting some form of complication during or after the upgrade to Mac OS X 10.4.2, our most recent user poll indicates that overall susceptibility to hardware and software conflicts is decreasing with each incremental release of Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger).

64.5 percent of the nearly 1200 respondents indicated no noticeable issues after applying the Mac OS X 10.4.2 updater. 24.5 percent reported minor issues, while 11 percent experienced major problems such as an inability to properly startup or loss of data.

A similar user poll for Mac OS X 10.4.1 resulted in nearly half of the respondents reporting that they encountered some problem when installing the update.

For Mac OS X 10.4.0, the initial release of Tiger, 63.6 percent of users reported some form of malfunction upon update application.
